The commonwealth’s rising stars gathered in Philadelphia on Tuesday, June 25 to honor City & State Pennsylvania’s 2024 40 Under 40, which celebrates some of the state’s most influential millennials and Gen Zers.

Nearly 150 attendees came to the Doubletree Philadelphia Center City to recognize the 40  exceptional individuals under the age of 40, with keynote speakers focusing their remarks on the power and potential the honorees in the room possess.

Emcee of the event Teresa M. Lundy, principal and founder of TML Communications, welcomed the two keynote speakers, Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson and Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato.

Innamorato, the first woman to hold the position of Allegheny County Executive, spoke on overcoming adversity and utilizing her platform to elevate the voices of those who are struggling.

“Real leadership (and) the power to make the world a better place, it doesn’t come from a title,” she said. “It comes when you bring people together to solve problems. It’s how we stay resilient and resolute in the face of criticism.”
