2024 Pennsylvania congressional election results

Much like the presidential election, the fate of Congress could very well rest on the shoulders of Pennsylvania voters.

Throughout the 2024 election cycle, Pennsylvania congressional races have received a ton of attention from donors, prognosticators and national political figures. With control of the U.S. House of Representatives separated by just eight seats heading into Election Day, Democrats set their sights on several districts around the commonwealth in an attempt to flip the chamber into their control, while U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson made several trips to Pennsylvania as the GOP looked to defend – and expand – its House majority. 

Meanwhile, Pennsylvania’s Democratic U.S. Sen. Bob Casey campaigned around the state to try and secure another term as he faces a fierce challenge from former hedge fund executive Dave McCormick. 

Below, City & State is tracking the results of all 17 of Pennsylvania’s U.S. House elections, as well as how the commonwealth’s closely watched U.S. Senate race shakes out. 

Editor’s note: While voting totals may not be complete, the following races have been called by the AP. Other races will be updated as they are called.

Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race remains too close to call between U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, a Democrat, and Republican challenger Dave McCormick.

In the 1st Congressional District, Republican U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick defeated Democratic challenger Ashley Ehasz.

In the 2nd Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle, a Democrat, defeated Republican challenger Aaron Bashir.

In the 3rd Congressional District, Democratic U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans won without any competition.

In the 4th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean, a Democrat, beat GOP challenger David Winkler.

In the 5th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon was reelected to another term in Congress after defeating Republican candidate Alfeia Goodwin

In the 6th Congressional District, Democratic U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan beat Republican challenger Neil Young to win another term.

In the 7th Congressional District, Republican challenger and state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie defeated incumbent U.S. Rep. Susan Wild, with Wild conceding the election on Wednesday morning. 

In the 8th Congressional District, incumbent U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, a Democrat, conceded the race to GOP challenger Rob Bresnahan.

In the 9th Congressional District, GOP U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser wins another term after defeating Democratic challenger Amanda Waldman.

In the 10th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Scott Perry holds a lead over Democratic candidate Janelle Stelson, though the race has yet to be called by the AP.

In the 11th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker, a Republican, defeated Democratic challenger Jim Atkinson.

In the 12th Congressional District, Democratic U.S. Rep. Summer Lee was reelected after facing a challenge from GOP candidate James Hayes.

In the 13th Congressional District, Republican U.S. Rep. John Joyce defeated Democratic challenger Beth Farnham.

In the 14th Congressional District, Republican U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler fended off a challenge from Democratic candidate Chris Dziados.

In the 15th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson is reelected after facing a challenge from Democratic candidate Zach Womer.

In the 16th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, a Republican, defeated Democratic challenger Preston Nouri.

In the 17th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Chris Deluzio, a Democrat, defeated GOP challenger and state Rep. Rob Mercuri.
