How does your work with the PHRC reflect your goals and beliefs?

The mission of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission aligns with my sincere belief that every person has dignity and should be treated with respect.  Every person deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, irrespective of race,  sex, religious belief, socio-economic status and/or disability. We all have something to offer the world to make it better for the next generation, but we must create the conditions for them to inhabit a world where human existence is equitable.

What are some current and/or upcoming projects you are most excited about?

The PHRC has embarked on a 67-county Beloved Community tour across the Commonwealth to promote a more inclusive Pennsylvania. We value unity, so for us to share the mission of the agency that has been charged with promoting civil rights for six decades – while providing the resources to our residents on how to access these rights under the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act – will ensure equal treatment for all. This fight has a ripple effect beyond national borders, and I am equally excited for the Global Social Justice Initiative that will take the principles of civil rights around the world, promoting human rights and social justice.

What is the one thing you would like Pennsylvanians to know about what PHRC does for them?

We are here for you. The PHRC stands ready to serve you if you have been aggrieved by acts of discrimination and harassment by providing a neutral investigation of the facts to ensure equal protection under the law.
